::MET GALA 2015::
It's that time of year again when socialites gather together in the heart of New York City for a ball. The theme of this years Met Gala is China: Through the looking glass. I don't know about you but as I look through the gallery of dresses I can't help but ask what all these stylists were thinking. Almost every dress is S.S.S.S scandalously sheer & screams skank.
The bad: We know you're the "Queen" Bey but your Givenchy dress has horribly placed sequins throughout. K.K's "Cher inspired" dress by Peter Dundas is an eye sore due to the honing in on her bosom/nether regions, and J'Lo's is a real bottom feeder. Rihanna's makeup is flawless but her dress just reminds me of a bad version of Disney's Belle. Miley Cyrus in Alexander Wang would have been a hit if it wasn't for the odd love handle cut outs. Rita Ora's custom Tom Ford screams vampire and not so much Chinese inspired. Sienna Miller looks like a bull fighter with all that tassel- sorry Thakoon. But seriously, Kerry Washington had a mishap and someone spilled pepto bismol all over her.
The so so: Kendal's custom Calvin Klein in green crystal is lovely except for the racy lace up sides. The deep burgundy velvet lace dress on Gong Li is nice but the color doesn't suit her, maybe if the lace was gold. Lily Collins is cute but not very Chinese. Oh Anna, the woman can clearly do wrong in a orange flamenco drop waist dress which happens to also be Chanel, but we love that she left her sunnies at home.
The pretty: Reese Witherspoon dons a safe and classic red strapless with high slit, Rose Byrne in lacquered leather by Calvin Klein and Chrissy Teigen in a classic black gown. Alicia Vikander is sparkly and simple. Alexa Chung is on point with the theme as it's very appropriate and adorable. Chloe Sevigny is on point with the theme in J.W Anderson and Amanda Seyfried in a custom Givenchy white gown. A very unique look is the hybrid dress and pants on Liya Kebede by Phillip Lim. Lastly a gorgeous emerald blue green feathered Altuzarra dress on Keri Russell.
